Some days you are simply lost. You look at the situation around you, and it seems empty, open, and devoid of hope. When this happens it is a terrible thing. You can almost physically feel yourself starting to spiral into a depression.
You do not have to allow that to happen. Instead, if you focus on the basis for hope you can rejuvenate your faith in the fact that everything will be okay.
So what is the basis for hope? With every passing moment there is an opportunity for change. The wonderful thing is that you have the power to harness that change and create it for yourself. You can do something differently and affect change all around you.
This realization can be the foundation of the hope that you are desperately looking for. When you start to feel that you are lost it has to do with a loss of control. Things are happening to you without your consent, and that is one of the reasons that it feels so bad. Recognizing that you have the power in any moment that you choose to change your circumstances can be incredibly empowering.
Additionally, hope can be found in the positive. Again, as a society we often allow ourselves to get bogged down in negative thoughts and words. Unfortunately, talk like this can only create more negatives. Complaining does not do any good.
Instead, if you find a positive place to come from as you are facing discouraging situations you can usually find something to hang onto. That positive attitude can help you come up with solutions to the problems that you are dealing with.
Hope can be found in small successes. A lot of times we look for the basis for hope in big victories and accomplishments. Large scale victories and accomplishments don’t happen that often. So you need to celebrate the small victories that you achieve.
Take any difficult situation in baby steps. If you can do that you will be surprised at how much stronger your hope is. Additionally, that stronger sense of hope will create more strength in yourself and that will lead to more positive accomplishments and experiences.
The basis for hope can’t be found in one place in anyone's life. You need to find it for yourself in your own individual circumstances. You need to remember that where you find it can change from day to day and year to year.
While for some circumstances you may be able to find hope in your positive attitude, in other instances you may need to look to your family for your hope. The key is to keep looking, and to never give in to that downward spiral that you may be feeling. Trust in yourself that you have the strength to overcome anything as long as you hold tight to your hope and take it one step at a time. You can master the art and science of the basis for hope.
